Sean Stewart Leaves Ohio State Basketball for Transfer Portal
Ohio State forward Sean Stewart has officially entered the NCAA Transfer Portal after just one season with the Buckeyes, marking the deadline for college basketball players to make such moves. Previously, Stewart was a five-star recruit from the 2023 class, ranked as the 17th overall player and the second-best in Florida. Following an unsuccessful stint at Duke, he transferred to Ohio State, where he participated in 30 games, averaging 5.7 points and 5.8 rebounds. Despite being a significant contributor under head coach Jake Diebler, Stewart has opted to seek a new opportunity rather than continue with the restructured Buckeyes roster. His departure opens another spot for Ohio State, which is actively seeking to enhance its team through the Transfer Portal. The coaching staff has already secured commitments from three new players and aims to add more talent, including a wing player, as they prepare for the upcoming season while also welcoming two promising recruits for the 2025 class.
